The SUG 1994 CD-ROM is here!

SUG is pleased to announce its first software library that is
completely Solaris 2.2 compatible. Like all of the previous disks in
our award-winning line of software libraries, the 1994 SUG CD
emphasizes information sources (archives of useful textual
information) and includes plug-and-play Sparc binaries for many useful
libraries and programs. As in all previous years, wherever possible
sources and help-files are also provided.

The SUG 1994 CD is an ISO 9660 disk (which means it can be used by
PC, Macintosh, and other workstations as well).

The SUG 1994 CD-ROM was compiled by a small team of volunteers, under
the direction of Joseph Pietras, and SUG is very grateful to all
involved for their efforts.

The SUG 1994 CD-ROM is priced at $95 (plus shipping), and, like all
SUG CDs, is only available to SUG members.

The disk includes material like:

/cdrom/cdrom0/s0 <= mount point of the CD-ROM (automatically created by
                           File Manager and automounter)

/README-files ...... centralized housekeeping! each is hard linked
 within the tree (see "bin/findmate")

/Solaris_2.2 ....... Software installable via: swmtool
 (professional, reliable, tested installs)

    /archives .......... of USENET newsgroups including: sun-managers
 sun-flash sun-nets sun-spots
 comp.unix.solaris comp.sys.sun.admin

/bin ............... programs ready to run under Solaris 2.x

/bin4x ............. programs ready to run under Solaris 1.x

/documentation ..... all manner of useful things; some PostScript
 others text (.txt usually) etc

/faq ............... useful FAQ's about all manner of things

/man ............... centralized, those scattered on the disk are
 hard links (see "bin/findmate")

/misc .............. gives you a taste of the Internet, for those
without access or those who don't have time
 to search things out

/packed-sw ......... "foo.tar.Z" useful source code and other
materials we thought of interest but not so
useful they deserved to be unpacked

/patches ........... hundreds of patches for Solaris 2.x and 1.x

/src ............... for all the images and more!

/startup-files ..... ".*rc" and ".x*" type files that go in the
 users home directory

    /x86 ............... Gnu Compilers for Solaris x86 -- including
 source, of course.

A complete table of contents (over 7000 lines long!) is available by
sending mail to office@sug.org.
