1. Introduction

Well to the latest versions of my Header and White Pages servers, they are being release together a) to save air time, and b) because they one relies on the other!!

2. Installation

Installing the servers is a very easy process

	1) Delete any HEADER.* files in WINPACK\SERVER\SEND
	2) Place HEADER.EXE in WINPACK\SERVER\SEND
	3) Delete any RLINE.* files in WINPACK\SERVER\RECEIVE
	4) Place RLINE.EXE in WINPACK\SERVER\RECEIVE
	5) Look in WINPACK\ for a file ADDRESS.TXT if not there place
 	   ADDRESS.TXT file there

3. What the servers do

3.1 HEADER.EXE

This is the header server it adds a header to all out going messages (except for 7+ ones, or ones with a "/D" at the beginning of a line!). The header is in the following format :

[F:hhnnz D:dd/mm/yy #:1234 N:Name {Locator, town} Header v2.01]

where :

hhnnz is the time eg 1234z
dd/mm/yy	is the date eg 01/01/97
1234 is the message number	eg 0098
Name is your name eg Peter
Locator is your locator eg JO01aj
Town is your home town	eg Bickly

3.2 RLINE.EXE

This is the White Pages server, it scans all incoming personal mail for the senders callsign, homebbs and Name and if there is not an entry for them in your ADDRESS.TXT it adds one to it. If the sender is not using Header v2.01 then the name will be Unknown.

5. The Future

The future for the Header server looks bright as soon as I can get the customisable text bit working properly!! as for the rline server maybe if i can speed the code up a bit it can be used on incoming Bulls as well but as it stands it can't at the moment so don't try it will crash!!..

As the future stands here for other servers these two are the first two which I have been able to develop at this speed this is due to the fact that i have managed to get WinFBB up and running eventually and using BPQ I can run WinFBB and Winpack on this one machine to test the servers with out actually going on air, as such access to WinFBB is available locally but it is not Connected to the National Network in anyway way shape or form and is only setup to forward personal mail to one local user who lives around the corner from me and i converse with regularly.

If you have any ideas for new servers then drop me a line at the address below
