This archive contains Postscript versions of many documents relevent to
implementing AX.25 and its associated protocols. Some of these documents
have been used for the basis of the Linux implementations and thus have been
shown to be "correct", or at least reflecting current usage. The documents
that are included in this first release are:

6pack.ps	A definition of the 6PACK TNC control protocol. It gives
more control than KISS at the expense of more processing in
		the host computer.

ax25.ps A version of the official ARRL AX.25 V2.0 specification. The
AX.25 within Linux is based on AX.25 V2.1 which removes the
sending of FRMRs amongst other simplifications.

extended-ax25.ps The specification of the extended form of AX.25 as devised
by Rob PE1CHL. This is based upon the extended mode of LAPB,
standard LAPB was the basis for the original AX.25
		specification.

hexipus.txt	Information by Dave Brown N2RJT about the wiring of the
Linux serial port to a Hexipus for use with many TNCs
		running the NET/ROM serial protocol.

kiss.ps A copy of the original KISS definition as published in the
		ARRL CNC papers.

multi-kiss.ps	The G8BPQ extensions to the KISS protocol to provide more
control over TNCs than standard KISS. These were published
in a later ARRL CNC papers. Compare and contrast with the
		approach taken by 6PACK.

netrom.ps	A copy of the Software 2000 documentation for the NET/ROM
protocol. This does not include the information about the
G8BPQ extensions to the protocol nor some of the other
		extensions extant in various contries.

yappxfer.doc	The specification of the standard YAPP protocol as specified
by Jeff WA7MBL. This does not include the extensions that
are used with the F6FBB nmailbox.

yappxfer.pas	A Pascal implementation of the basic YAPP protocol.

Many of the above documents appeared in the ax25-utils directory "docs" at
one time. I hope to build this up to be the prime source of protocol
information for the amateur packet world. I hope to extend this archive in
due course and would welcome detailed documents in English for the following:

DAMA/Optima
FlexNet
ROSE
